Students, academic and administrative staff of Izmir University of Economics, IUE graduates, Council members of Izmir Chamber of Commerce, and academicians and graduate students of other member universities that are part of Izmir Universities Platform can benefit from the library services as stated in the Library Services Regulation.
Other academic staff and Ph.D. students, foreign researchers, and librarians of other institutions may also visit the library during the working hours for research purposes.

Graduates of Izmir University of Economics may use the Library during operating hours without borrowing any materials. To borrow materials, however, membership in the Alumni Association is required

    Circulation Service

The due date for borrowed library materials can be extended online, provided the item has not been reserved by another user. Extensions can be requested through your library account or by calling the circulation desk at (0232 488 8388, 0232 488 8389).

Only under exceptional circumstances you are allowed to borrow materials without an ID card.

First, you must log in to the system using your member ID and password registered in the Yordam Library Automation Program by selecting the Log In option on the catalog search page. (If you do not know your member ID and/or password, you can obtain the necessary information from our Library Circulation Desk.) You can then search for the material you are looking for in the catalog and reserve it via the results screen.

The number of items you can borrow varies depending on the user group and the type of material. For example, students can borrow 5 books, 3 periodicals, and 2 non-book materials, while academics can borrow 10 books, 3 periodicals, and 2 non-book materials. For more information, please visit the Circulation Services page under the Services section on our library’s website.

If you do not return a borrowed item to our library by the due date, an overdue fee will begin to accrue daily. The total overdue fee will be reflected in your account when you return the item to the library.

Late fee for each material is 1, 00.-TL daily.

You can pay the late fee at the Financial Affairs Directorate and submit the payment receipt to the library circulation desk. For academic and administrative staff, late fees are deducted from their paychecks.

When a late fee is incurred, you will not be able to extend or borrow materials. In this case, the fine must be paid first. After that, the extension or borrowing of materials can take place.

In the case of a lost item, the library should be notified via email or in person at the circulation desk. Then, you can either provide an identical copy of the lost item (with the identical publication year, publisher, etc.) to the library or pay the replacement fee as communicated by the library.

    Reserve Collection

The books placed in the reserved section are gathered by the library upon the recommendation of the academics about textbooks taught in that year and are kept on the shelves next to the circulationdesk. The information of these books can be accessed by scanning through the katalog search area. They are borrowed for 2 (two) hour to be used at the library only in exchange for an ID card.
